The inaugural head of junior school, Kylie Chacon, began at TRAC on Friday, and said the road ahead was exciting.
"I am extremely excited about this new position, it's the dream job for me," she said.
"I have 25 years' teaching experience, and this is just a dream to be able to help enhance the learning of our junior school students."
Mrs Chacon's first priority will be assisting with the completion of Stage 1 of the new school department.
"Looking forward, it's very exciting to be able to build on the secondary education and to set up programs within the beautiful culture that already exists here," she said.

Coming from her recent role as Assistant Principal at EA Southee Public School in Cootamundra, TRAC Principal Paul Humble said Mrs Chacon was well equipped for her new position.
"Kylie Chacon demonstrated a unique combination of skills, values and ethos that makes her the ideal person to be the inaugural leader of the junior school," he said.
"We look forward to welcoming Mrs Chacon to our community and one of her first responsibilities will be to begin the comprehensive process of student and parent interviews for prospective junior school families."
Mr Humble said the inclusion of junior students was a rare opportunity for Wagga.
"We're looking forward to the opportunity to have consistent learning for kids from kindergarten all the way through to year 12," he said.
"The idea that we would have something totally unique in Wagga regarding what we will be able to provide for students is fantastic."
