Indy and Jameson Booth were both on their own overseas adventures, until they were cut short by the COVID-19 outbreak.
For 18-year-old Indy, the plan was always to begin studying a double degree in Business and Commerce at Bond University after receiving a scholarship, but wasn't meant to begin the course until September.
"I was only six days into my holiday in the USA, which was meant to go on until September, but it was good while it lasted, we had a great time," she said.
"I decided I may as well start earlier now though seeing as I'm home, but we have to study from home for now."
Jameson, 20, had already been travelling for the past two years, visiting more than 40 countries and working at the ski slopes in Canada before he was called home.
While he knew his sister was enrolled at Bond University for a course related to business, he didn't know the exact degree.
"The fact she was going to Bond was a big reason why I applied, and I applied for three courses, with my second preference successful," he said.
"I didn't realise it at the time but we are now both enrolled in the same degree."
For the keen traveller, getting back into the swing of study wouldn't come easily.
"It will be difficult but I also think it's good, I'm settled now and I've had my adventure so I'm ready to get back into it," Jameson said.
"Especially studying remotely now though, it will be good to have that extra support from Indy living in the same house."
Indy said studying remotely was full of unknowns.
"I don't know what to expect with the distance studying, I think it'll be easier to balance the academic side of things I guess," she said.
"I think [Jameson and I] will study separately, I like to be at my desk and be organised, he can work from anywhere."
The siblings both started a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Commerce on Monday, with plans to move to the Gold Coast in September.
"We are so keen to come up to the Gold Coast, we have been there a lot growing up, our family loves it," Indy said.
"I will be living on campus, Jameson won't be, but it will be good to have each other's support."
