About 3.10am on May 16, police say a 29-year-old man was in the process of delivering bread to the FoodWorks in Forest Hill when he was approached by a man in a white Suzuki Swift.
The offender produced a knife and forced the man to give him access to the store, where he attempted to access the cash register.
He then forced the 29-year-old at knife point to withdraw $2000 of his own money from an ATM before forcing him into the Suzuki and driving them both towards Wagga.
Police say the vehicle drive into a barbed wire fence at the intersection of Kyeamba Avenue and Vincent Road. The offender then forced the man at knife point to free the vehicle before driving them both to Kooringal Mall.
The delivery driver was again forced to withdraw cash from another ATM to the value of $1500, then left the man at the mall before fleeing.
Police say the Suzuki was stolen on Friday evening from an address on Franklin Drive, Estella, and following the kidnapping and robbery, the vehicle was abandoned at Harris Park in Turvey Park.
A crime scene examination has been carried out at the FoodWorks, Kooringal Mall, crash site, and on the vehicle itself.
The offender has not been caught and is described as being about 6-foot tall, of slim build, and wearing a dark hoodie with his face covered, and carrying a six-inch knife.
The delivery driver was physically unharmed during the ordeal.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
