Parks and playgrounds across the state are once again open to the public after the NSW government further wound back some of its strictest social distancing restrictions on Friday.
Wagga's Xavier De Piazza, 9, was able to get back on the big swing at Lake Albert's Apex Park for the first time in two months.
He said it felt good to be back.
"I've been [riding my bike] around the lake a lot, but I haven't been able to go play around the park," Xavier said.
"I love to play sport. I play all kinds of sport. AFL's probably my favourite because I play with lots of people. But that hasn't started back up again."
Xavier's mum Bronwyn said she felt like life was "getting a bit back to normal".
"We just came down to the lake to go for a run. The kids are having a play on the park for the first time in a couple of months so they're pretty excited," she said.
"We love it. We've been cooped up inside working from home and homeschooling. The kids are back to school next week."
Xavier said he was looking forward to returning to school and seeing his friends.

Across the playground Harvey St Ruth, 8, and his brother Syd, 6, were preparing to go down the slide.
Their grandparents Bronwen and David St Ruth said the morning was going well.
"We've had these fellas overnight and an early start ... they couldn't wait to get out the door," Mr St Ruth said.
"We're out for the first time in months," Mrs St Ruth said.
"It's lovely."
