The five-year-old became the first mare to qualify for next week's Regional Championships final with an all-the-way display at Riverina Paceway on Friday.
Reinsman Peter McRae was thrilled to help deliver the Junee family with a first.
"It means a lot for the family to have a horse into a group one race," McRae said.
"It is probably the first time and might be the last."
McRae and girlfriend Tegan Judd work the mare alongside her father, Junee trainer Terry Judd.
It will be his first drive in a group one as well.
"I've been lucky enough to be in a few group threes and twos but this is my first group one," McRae said.
Ideal Fantasy worked hard to find the front early from gate five but was then able to dictate terms in the sixth heat of the series.
She looked full of running down the back straight and despite her rivals looming late she held on for the most important victory of her life.
She held off Topsie Grinner, who was also second in a heat last week for Josh Powderly, to win by 2.1 metres in a mile rate of 1:56.3.
"She fought one well," McRae said.
"She never really gets away from them too much but towards the finish the fast lead time was maybe paying a toll."
Consistency has been the key for the daughter of American Ideal who now looks like a bargain purchase by Chris Judd.
Picked up with one bid of $4000 her latest victory was her ninth from 56 starts, with another 18 placings, and takes her over $60,000 in earnings.
Coming off a second behind Whereyabinboppin last week, the mare has now only missed the top four once in her last 15 starts.
She was beaten by 32.7 metres last week, but with the series favourite running just outside the track record the team were still thrilled with her individual performance.
McRae was impressed with how well she backed up.
"She went super last week and was really deserving of this win."
She now heads to the $100,000 final to be run at Riverina Paceway on Friday.
