In the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday, there were no new positive results recorded, the first time since the pandemic began.
More than 6000 people were tested across NSW for COVID-19 on Monday.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian welcomed the result, but urged people not to be complacent and to get tested if they had symptoms.
"We want to see those testing numbers get closer to the target of 8000," she said.
"We're asking everybody to come forward, especially as the winter months are approaching and people will be developing flu-like symptoms.
"Please assume you have the coronavirus, don't assume it's just a cold and don't assume it's just the flu."
In all, there have been 45 positive COVID-19 results in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
A total of 5967 people have so far been tested across the MLHD region.
