Wagga's Shinwa-Kai Karate Club has been restricted to online tutorials for a reduced number of students during the pandemic, but can start training with up to ten people once stage two begins at the end of the week.
"It's quite difficult doing it online," club sensei Sawal Salleh said.
"Some of them aren't comfortable doing online, they feel weird doing it in front of their screen so the majority of them are waiting for the actual classes to reopen to get back into the swing of things.
"But we allow them to train by themselves. We put up a video of what they've done for that week and then we can practice at home. That's about all we can do right now.
"We have to do it on Saturday in the morning, week days are out of the question because most can only make it a 5pm and the evenings get too cold."
Recently the students have been practicing the use of the traditional Sai weapon and improving their Sai throwing technique by throwing them into the ground.
This form of training is also designed to improve the students' mental health and focus.
