The 20-year-old is currently at home busy continuing her radiology studies at university while the NRL Touch competition is postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Wagga has held the past two southern conference carnivals after NSW Touch opted to split the competition into two divisions after it was previously held as one event in Port Macquarie.
Five Wagga Vipers teams made finals, with the under-eight girls taking their title with a 9-6 win over Cronulla.
"I was mentoring at the Junior State Cup this year. The eights and tens weren't able to go to Port Macquaire so they miss two years of development there, but now it's back in Wagga they can play," Podmore said.'
Podmore, who joined fellow Wagga product Vienna Randal in helping Australia win the Youth Touch World Cup at Malaysia in 2018, has had her touch schedule put on hold since helping Australia win a Trans Tasman Series 3-0 in January.
After playing for Newcastle in the first two years of the NRL touch competition, she is unsure who she will play for should it be rescheduled for this year.
"We were meant to have Origin trials in April but none of that went ahead and the NRL Touch has been postponed indefinitely," she said.
"It (NRL Touch) is probably the biggest thing that's happened to touch football since I've been playing. It's such a big opportunity.
"I went to the opens Australian squad training in early January in Brisbane and that was a good experience for sure.
"Before all this happened the clubs have changed so Newcastle isn't a club any more. The whole configuration changed because some other clubs wanted to get on board.
"It depends on regions what team you play for and they hadn't explained any of that before everything was cancelled."
Podmore's long term goal is to eventually be chosen in Australia's open team.
"I don't think it will be this year but hopefully in the next few years. I'm still quite young," she said.
