Both fires were accidentally lit in houses on Buna Street, Ashmont.
The first was ablaze around midday on Monday, while the second was destroyed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Turvey Park firefighters were called to 19 Buna Street at 2.35am on Wednesday.
"Flames were already at the ceiling, coming through the door and the windows," said station commander Jeff Edwards.

The sole occupant of the dwelling had a terrifying ordeal escaping the fire. It is understood she was in the shower at the time the house caught alight, and had left some candles burning.
"She managed to escape through a back door and get to neighbours who called us," Mr Edwards said.
Riverina Police District Inspector Adrian Telfer confirmed that an investigation confirmed the fire would not be treated as suspicious.
"The person living there told us they'd lit a candle, that candle has fallen over and the fire investigators are satisfied that that was how it started," Inspector Telfer said.
Fire and Rescue's Inspector Daryl Mason highlighted the importance of checking winter appliances to avoid any accidental fires.
"We want to remind people to be careful when using heaters and to keep everything in the house 'a metre from the heater'," he said.
He also reminded the community to clean dryer lint filters, avoid overloading powerboards, never cook using LPG cylinders and ensure smoke alarms are working.
