BREAST screening services will soon reopen across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District following a recent announcement made by the federal government.

Screening is set to recommence on May 18, alongside a number of other elective surgeries.
However, MLHD Chief Executive Jill Ludford reminded the community that these services take time get up and running.
"Resuming a service is always harder than stopping one," she said.
"In the first instance, we will prioritise and start with those women who had their mammograms deferred, and make sure the mobile van goes out to geographical areas with the greatest numbers and cases in need."
Radiographers responsible for performing the scans will still be required to comply with social distancing as much as they can, and use personal protective equipment where necessary.
