POLICE have fined two people for disobeying social distancing regulations after investigating reports of a break and enter yesterday.

Officers were called to Willow Street, Kooringal, about 1pm following reports of a suspected break and enter, and upon arriving, stopped two people riding bicycles.
"A 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were travelling in breach of ministerial directions and issued fines accordingly," Riverina Police District Commander Bob Noble said.
Checks revealed they had both been given a previous warning for breaching ministerial directions and were issued with $1000 fines.

During a search of the pair, police also found torches and other tools.
The man was issued additional infringement notices for trespass and rider not wear bicycle helmet.
"Since March 1, 35 individuals in the Riverina Police District have been issued with $1000 fines and more than 100 have been individually warned," Superintendent Noble said.
"We are very serious about maintaining the integrity of those ministerial directions."
