Instead of the traditional catwalk by the race track, those hoping to land the title of best dressed in 2020 are asked to upload a photo of their outfit to Instagram, tagging the Murrumbidgee Turf Club and using the hashtag #goldcup2020.
While race day will most likely be spent in the comfort of your home, Wagga milliner Joanne Rolfe said you can still get dressed to impress.
"Headbands are always a big thing, but especially now, when you can't get to the shops or spend a lot, there's a lot you can do to make it artistic," she said.
"You could simply even use hot glue and add some jewellery or feathers to it, or for a floral look, try attaching fake flowers."
The creative twist would also keep little ones entertained as isolation continues, and Ms Rolfe said the button box was a good place to start.
"Go through that button box we all have lying around at home and attach some buttons to the headband or use them to decorate a clip," she said.
In other news:
Celebrating the cup at home was a good opportunity to give forgotten garments a new lease on life.
"Pull out some of your older hats and revamp them at home, a good refresh is always a good idea," Ms Rolfe said.
Those lucky enough to land first place in either category of Lady of the Day, Man of the Day, and a new category for 2020, Workplace Team, would receive a range of prizes from wines to gift vouchers.
The Gold Cup's Fashions on the Field will take place this Friday, May 1.
