A MAN has been charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in Wagga yesterday.

Officers from the Riverina Police District noticed a Ford Falcon with no registration plates travelling along Cottee Street in Ashmont about 7am Wednesday.
Police followed the vehicle and as they initiated a pursuit, the car drove into Ashmont Park and hit the embankment, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof and come to a stop.
The 23-year-old man driving the car allegedly fled the scene on foot and, following extensive inquiries, was located about 8.30am on Cottee Street.
He was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, larceny, police pursuit, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, use unregistered Class A motor vehicle, possess prohibited drug and fail to comply with requirement of public health order - breach COVID-19 direction.
The passenger, a 33-year-old man, remained with the vehicle at the time of the incident and was taken to Wagga Base Hospital with lacerations to his head and a possible shoulder injury.
The 23-year-old was refused bail and is due to face Wagga Local Court Thursday, April 23.
