Travellers will have their temperature measured at check-in counters across the airline's 55 destinations.
Rex National Airport Manager David Brooksby said the new system was a precautionary measure to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
"Any passengers recording a temperature outside a healthy range will be denied boarding," he said.
"Rex staff commencing duty will also have their temperature tested at sign-on."

The airline is also taken an extra step to uphold their duty of care to passengers and staff during the pandemic.
"In addition, although this is not required under any existing regulation, Rex endeavours to space out the seating allocation of all passengers to facilitate social distancing," Mr Brooksby said.
"There will also be changes in the in-flight catering service provided to minimise the risk of infection."
