Charming Pat ($2.50) bounced straight to the front for in-form apprentice jockey Tyler Schiller and was never headed, running away for an easy win in the Kooringal Stud 2YO Maiden Handicap (1200m).
Charming Pat ran second behind Golden Slipper winner Farnan on debut and went on to compete in some of the most lucrative two-year-old races without any success.
He produced a strong turnaround in form on Sunday after being beaten 18 lengths at his last start in the $200,000 Wellington Boot a fortnight ago.
Wagga trainer Trevor Sutherland believes the son of Charm Spirit can go on with things now.
"Now he's got the one I think he can string a few together," Sutherland told Sky Racing after the race.
"It was a good ride by Tyler, he got to the front and dictated."
The win also proved the perfect birthday present for part-owner Pat Reardon.
Charming Pat won by 2.7 lengths from Dancin' Til Dawn ($3.90) and Queen Street Boss ($26).
Meantime, the Luke Pepper-trained Away She Goes ($8.00) took out The Brothers War @ Kooringal Stud Queen of the South Prelude Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m).
Blaike McDougall brought the mare with a well-timed run, edging out Miss Farloo ($14) and Milamoo ($12).
