Almost seven weeks after losing daughter Ella in a car crash, Coleambally trainer Matthew Painting tasted success with the three-year-old.

Heart Attack Stack was narrowly beaten on debut when went one better next time around after leading all the way with Painting's nephew Blake Jones doing the steering.

Jones will thrilled to help bring up the special win.

"It was good to get a win for them after all the tough times everyone has been there," he said.

"It was a bit of a shining light at the end of the tunnel."

Jones was especially pleased for the youngest of the three Painting girls, Lily.

"She loves the horse, it's her little horse, and she tells me she is the trainer of it," he said.

"She was pumped."

The story of Heart Attack Stack has another aspect.

Particularly where he the three-year-old got his name.

"My nickname was Stacker from when I was playing footy and it has always stuck," Painting said.

"About two years ago he'd been broken in and I got him in for a prep and thought I would drive him in front reins first and he was being an arsehole, if I can say that.

"I was having a bit of a fight with him and started to have a heart attack so that's where the name came from."

Jones believes there is plenty of improvement to come from the son of Roll With Joe.

"He was super last week, I was really impressed with him," he said.

"This week we was probably a little bit lost in front, he gawked around and wandered around a little bit when he they came at him he knuckled down and finished off good.

"I definitely think he will improve off that but he got the job done and that was the main thing."

It was part of a running double for Jones, who also tasted success aboard Cee Cee Norman for Darryl Pitt

Another to lead all the way, the Coleambally reinsman was pleased with how he started the meeting.

"She got a little keen during the early stages but I let her roll along a little bit," Jones said.

"She fought on pretty good in the last 50 when they came at her.

"They were pretty rapt with her."

It was her first win since July in her second start for her new stable.

Jones had a drive in each of the eight races and had a minor win in the stewards room after successfully protesting against ... to finish second with later on the program.

His cousin Jackson Painting also snared a double for his uncle David Kennedy.

They combined for success with Brexitt before Georgie Martin took out the last race.

Painting was pleased with their efforts.

"We will take the two wins," Painting said.

"We weren't expecting it with Brexitt drawn nine and Georgie was only having a trial as she can't trial anywhere.

"It was even better to get the money with her."

Georgie Martin six of her 11 starts since coming to Australia with her two unplaced efforts at Melton.
