Sent to the Wagga trainer from Queensland looking to race in the now delayed four-year-old series at Riverina Paceway, We Salute You has won two of his last three races.
However Woodhouse is far from confident heading into the Walsh & Blair Solicitors Pace (1740m) after drawing the inside of the second row at Wagga on Friday.
"He's been paying his way, which the owner is happy about, but he has drawn a hard alley on Friday," Woodhouse said.
"We will just have to do our best as there is not much else we can do."
We Salute You, a half-brother to reigning Australian two-year-old filly of the year Maajida, has won 10 races across three states.
He had been campaigning in Brisbane before owner Rob Nalder elected to send him back to the Riverina with for the group one carnival which has been delayed due to the impact of coronavirus.
"Originally he was sent down for that four-year-old race and to go to Menangle and someone else later," Woodhouse said.
"He's stuck here for the moment given the current conditions."
Woodhouse isn't expecting the carnival, which featured four group ones, to be held anytime soon due to the coronavirus threat.
We Salute You is coming off a strong win at Riverina Paceway, where he clocked a mile rate of 1:56.4 for the 2270 metres.
Woodhouse believes the tempo will need to suit once more if he is going to repeat the dose.
"It really suited him last time," he said.
"He loves coming off pace as they went hard early.
"He can sit on pace pretty good as he's not super quick and he's not super tough but when he's back in the field and they go hard that is his go."
With a strong line up assembled, Woodhouse is hopeful conditions will suit.
"There is enough nice horses in there," he said.
"I'm not sure what they will do with Man Hands (drawn eight) but she normally goes forward so I think there will be enough speed on there.
"It is just whether he can get any luck."
Woodhouse only works a small team of horses but has been enjoying plenty of success recently.
He scored a win with the aptly named two-year-old The Mountain at Wagga on April 5, following a second on debut.
However the big son of Warrawee Needy has been sent for a break.
"I was really really happy with him," Woodhouse said.
"He's probably too big a horse to be racing at two but the carrot is pretty big.
"I forced myself to bring him in and had him set for the Breeders Challenge heats in May but as soon as they've been moved back I've put him in the paddock."
While the NSW Breeders Challenge has been pushed back with the final to be run in October Woodhouse is yet to determine when The Mountain will come back into work.
"He still has a long way to go and there is a lot of improvement there as he's just like a big, immature kid at the moment," he said.
"He hasn't really clicked with what it is all about but I'm really happy with him and hopefully he can come back and improve a bit."
Wagga's eight-race card get under way at 12.42pm.
