In their first overseas trip, the pair headed to Wagga to link with Reddies for the Southern Inland season.

However they've been forced to wait out the coronavirus crisis with all rugby activities banned until May 31.

"I came to play rugby and now we can't play so we are just looking for work and maybe travelling," Pavan said. "I want to stay here until the rugby season starts again so we are just waiting for that."

With Argentina in lockdown due to the crisis heading home isn't an option at this stage.

Instead the pair from Rosario are living alongside new teammate Jacob Holt while getting to know the city a little better.

Holt has also returned for his second season with the club as after being part of a winless season last year the 20-year-old wanted to help the club rise back up.

"I love Wagga and wanted to come back as last year was a bit of a disaster," Holt said.

"It's one last swansong of redemption."

Holt's parents are both health workers in Dorchester and he's hoping the situation doesn't become like it is there and he can get back on the field.

CSU have taken big steps following another poor season in 2019.

Not only are the Argentinians on board but there has been an influx of Fijian talent to the club.

Coach Paul Hood thought there were some promising signs from their trial performance against Yass before the shut down especially with better depth across the park.

Now he's hoping to be able to regroup when given the all clear to return.

"We've had one trial game which was good and we've had good numbers so we're frustrated but I suppose everyone is," Hood said.

"Luckily the guys we have picked up are still in town working and the beauty of it is they can't go to any other code as there is no other codes."

However it isn't all good news with a New Zealand recruit unable to link with the club due to COVID-19 restrictions.
