Between Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, police issued 11 warnings to members of the public who were in breach of 'stay at home' regulations.

"One example was on Saturday night where police stopped three persons walking down the street in Junee's CBD," Superintendent Bob Noble said.

The Riverina Police District Commander said police practiced discretion in most cases as people adjusted to tightened restrictions.

"Most of those cases were people simply being careless, thoughtless or selfish, and when we pointed out to them the dangers of what they were doing, they admitted to making an error in judgement and agreed not to do so again," he said.

With no further confirmed COVID-19 cases across the MLHD, Superintendent Noble said it was "pleasing", but not a sign to become lax.

"The danger with this positive news is complacency," he said.

"The encouraging sign of no new infections cannot lead us to the outcome of dropping the ball, and let's not forget there has been one person who has lost their life in the district as a result of the virus.

"We can only imagine the impact that death has had on their family and social circles, and we don't want to see any more if it can be avoided by staying home."
