Azaryah captured one of the main lead-ups to the $200,000 feature on May 1 when she posted an all-the-way victory in the $25,000 MTC Country Cup (2000m) at Wagga with Shaun Guymer in the saddle.
The five-year-old mare has made an incredible return to the track in her first campaign with Sutherland after almost two years off the scene.
She won her first three starts this preparation, which started with her maiden victory, and has quickly progressed to open company, where she put pay to her rivals by two lengths in the feature of the nine-race card.
Sutherland confirmed it will be full steam ahead to the listed Wagga Gold Cup (2000m).
"The Cup has always been my plan," Sutherland said.
"She'll go the Murrumbidgee Cup on the 19th and then to the Wagga Cup.
"I thought she was very dominant today. She's done a hell of a job in her first prep. To go from a maiden to open company, and to win like that, they don't do that. She's a mare in great order."
The win was part of a big day for Sutherland and continued a successful couple of weeks for the stable.
Sutherland grabbed first and third in feature, with Jungle Book ($16.00) flashing home for third. The Matthew Dale-trained Animalia ($8.00) split the Wagga pair in second place.
He then took out the final race, the Bush & Campbells Accountants Open Handicap (1000m), with Real Key ($5.50) in a quick time of 56.77 seconds.
In a busy finish, Real Key flashed home, to win ahead of Logan River ($11) and Polar Star ($31). He was ridden by Ellen Hennessy.
Sutherland will consider backing Real Key up in the $50,000 Wellington Town Plate (1100m) on Sunday.
He would also love to push towards the $200,000 Wagga Town Plate (1200m) on April 30.
"I'll sit down and see how he pulls up," Sutherland said.
"I've always maintained that's the way to ride him (with a sit) and 1200 is his pet trip."
