A 34-year-old Kooringal man was shopping at the suburb's Woolworths about 4pm Thursday when he tried to purchase four products that were limited to two per person amid the COVID-19 restrictions on shoppers.
Wagga Police Acting Inspector Steve Probst said the man was then denied by staff on multiple occasions, leading the man to allegedly sneeze on two of the food products, yelling "They're all contaminated now" as well as telling the staff member they were also now infected.
"Police have since spoken to the man, who had posted about the incident himself on social media, and he has been charged," he said.
The man will appear in Wagga Local Court, June 24.
