Although the government has allowed clothing shops to remain open for the time being, many are still being forced to close in the face of dwindling traffic.
Well-established Baylis Street shops such as Noni B, Billy & Bear, Rockmans, and Katies are among the clothing shops that have opted to close their doors early on Thursday.
The story is much the same nation-wide as large retail groups issue mass-closures of their chains all around Australia.
Premier Investments, which owns Wagga shops such as Smiggle, Jay Jays, Just Jeans and Portmans, announced it would close all of its shops until at least April 22.
Accent Group, which owns a number of footwear brands including Athlete's Foot, Skechers, Timberlands and Platypus, will also shut its stores for four weeks.
