Officers from the Riverina Police District are investigating the incident which occurred about 4pm Sunday, March 22, but say it is not likely a targeted attack.
"It appears that a motor vehicle lost control on the dirt road adjacent to the cemetery and has gone through the fence, knocking over four headstones," Inspector Adrian Telfer said.
"The driver has clearly left the scene without leaving any identification or details so we do need to know who that person was and what exactly happened."

The families of those grave sites damaged have been notified by police, and Inspector Telfer said they were "understanding and cooperative".
Police are now appealing for information from the public to find the driver responsible. Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
