Navigate director Matthew Karpanen said they came into one of the biggest nights on the city's social calendar with no expectations, and were ecstatic when their name was read out at the 100 Club Gala Dinner and Draw.
"This is the first time we've entered. To say it's good luck would be a understatement," Karpanen said.
"They draw 100 names and if you're the lucky last, you get Gold Cup naming rights.
"The brand recognition is brilliant, and from our perspective we're stoked with that."
"We try really hard to support the local community. To then get the naming rights to the Gold Cup is another way we're out there, and the number of people it brings into town is pretty phenomenal."
