In an online statement, Riverina Police District labelled the nature of the injuries people received as "sheer good luck" that no one had died as a result of the attacks.
"It is an extremely low act to hit someone without them knowing," the statement read.
The statement said police were addressing the issues which have occurred over the last six to seven weeks.
"A number of persons have been charged or issued with legal process in respect to these incidents," the statement said.
"Riverina PD will do everything in their power to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions."
A spokesperson from the Riverina Police District said local licensees supported any legal action taken against people involved in assaults of this nature.
"Those who are identified as being involved in such incidents will find themselves barred from licensed premises within the Wagga Wagga Liquor Accord area," they said.
