Walker has significantly scaled back his team over the past 12 months but still managed to make his presence felt at Wagga with two winners from his only two starters.
Walker opened the card with Jesszz Reflection ($13.00) scoring an impressive fashion in the Nesbitt's Furniture NR 55 Pace (1740m).
He then completed the double when Funnily Enough ($2.15) scored a tight win in the Tesco Petroleum NR 47 Pace (1740m).
With Walker suspended, both winners were driven by Blake Micallef.
Walker was pleased to bring up his first double on the new track.
"You've got to have a good night every now and again," Walker said.
"I've had a pretty bad 12 months actually. I'm not working the number of horses I used to. I've gone from about 30 down to 10 or 11 and most of them are mine."
Walker was most pleased by Jesszz Reflection, who sat outside the leader to score in a winning mile rate of 1:56.9.
It was the mare's fourth win at start number 25 but it did not surprise Walker.
"She won two starts ago and then last start she was caught wide early," he said.
"I didn't say she would have been able to sit outside them and win like she did. She was pretty impressive I thought."
Jesszz Reflection reached the semi-finals of the 3YO Fillies Breeders Challenge but ran seventh. Walker hopes there is still upside to her.
"She's always been a nice filly," he said.
"She probably hasn't quite reached the level I thought she was up to but she might do it one day."
Funnily Enough was given every chance in front and got home by a half head in a mile rate of 1:59.9.
It continued a purple patch of form for the four-year-old, having won three of his last four starts to take his record to four victories from 22 starts.
Coleambally reinsman Blake Jones also enjoyed a winning double, winning on the Michael Hawke-trained Never Been Said ($3.10) and Kim Hillier's Courage Lips ($3.20).
It was the Hawke stable's second win at Wagga in five days.
