Filled with sunshine, socialising and plenty of cool drinks, punters from near and far made the most of the perfect weather.
Tumut Turf Club secretary Jeff Hanson said more than 1000 people poured through the gates.
In other news:
Although it was a slow start near the beginning of the day, Mr Hanson said there were "big, bustling" crowds as the race went on.
"It was a really good day, fantastic weather, strong racing and great fashions of on the field," he said.
Tumut's first meeting of the new season is on October 31 for the Derby Day races.
