Dawa dislocated her ankle and fractured her leg preparing for the ACT Brumbies season and the former CSU speedster will be sidelined for an extended period.
The Brumbies play their first game against RugbyWA at Canberra Stadium on Saturday as part of a double header with the Super Rugby side.
The teams will be named on Thursday.

Former Wagga schoolgirl Clare Harpley has also been brought into the squad.
Harpley was part of the team who trialled in hot conditions in Wagga earlier this month.
