NO records were broken but participation was up when Sturt Public School held its annual swimming carnival at Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre on Tuesday.

After finishing second in last year's tally, Macleay edged out Clayton to win the champion house award after the carnival began early to beat potential late afternoon rain.
"There was a lot of participation and students having a go, which was great to see," sports coordinator Susan Brasier said.
"Students who were unable to swim in events also earned points for their house in novelty events.
"A lot of kids performed really well, it was hard to single anyone out. The Kooringal High School students who did the timekeeping for us were amazing as well.
"There was a lot of kids taking part, and that's what we want."
