Both teams won after the mercy rule was applied with the Warriors winning 11-1 and Turvey Park Red 14-7.
Saints were first to bat in their match, but, despite safe hits to Kadison Hofert and Tessa McGlynn no runs were scored.
The Warriors took an early lead when home runs to Jess Swaysland, Makaylee Little and Layhnee Kearnes and a left-field hit to Montana Kearnes netted four runs.
The Saints' second innings was quick with Warriors effecting "three up-three down" in the form of regulation dismissals. By contrast, the Saints bats went to work again in their second innings as they scored another four runs due to hits to Kristy Tenison, Swaysland, Kearnes and Kimberley Dennis.
Again, the Saints were dismissed without score in their third dig and the Warriors added another three with hits to Carmel Hutchinson and Layhnee Kearnes.
The Saints finally troubled the scoreboard when Tessa McGlynn made it home but with the score at 11-1, the run-ahead rule was applied to finish the game.
Next week the Saints will hope to bounce back against the Turvey Park Blues, while the Warriors will meet Turvey Park Red.
In the other match Turvey Park Red batted first and thanks to a Jade Olsen home run and hits to Amanda Lenon and Kate Looney they scored five runs.
Turvey Blue loaded up the bases with smart bunts from Leila Wadley and Amanda Gooden and a hit to Nerida Bates. Turvey pitcher Paris Hall, promptly hit a home run past centrefield to score four runs.
The Reds second innings started with Charli McNaughton being caught wide in foul territory by Blue's speedy leftfield Leila Wadley.
After the next batter was K-2'd, Lenon and Belinda Dennis both hit safely and were batted in by Jamila Piercy.
Turvey Blue failed to score in their second inning. Despite hits to Looney and Montana Duncan, Turvey Red was dismissed without score in the top of the third.
For the Blues, Bates hit a three-bagger and was batted in by an Amanda Gooden sacrifice fly, taking the score to 7-5 at the bottom of the third.
The Reds flexed their muscle again in the top of the fourth, scoring Sarah Carter, Lenon and Dennis.
The Blues kept themselves in the game when Charli Hall and Ruby Thornely were both batted in by yet another Bate's outfield hit.
But that ended the scoring for the Blues, whilst the Reds added another four runs in their final two innings with Olsen, McNaughton (two), Carter and Looney all having hits in this period.
Next round the Reds will be out to challenge the Warriors and the Blues will play the Saints.
