The 97-year-old Wagga branch is facing closure because of dwindling membership numbers and is currently in recess.
In a bid to save the branch and recruit new members to branches across the Riverina, CWA members are holding an expo in the Wagga marketplace until Friday.
Denise Fergusson, who is currently the secretary - and only office-bearer - of the Wagga branch said there had been a lot of support and positive attention from shoppers this week.
She is now hoping this will result in application for membership when the Wagga branch holds a meeting on Wednesday, February 12.
The meeting is being held in the CWA rooms at the corner of Trail and Johnston streets.
Mrs Fergusson is concerned that while the closure of the branch would not entirely rob Wagga of a CWA presence because there is also an evening branch, it could force the sale of the rooms.
Constructed in 1959, the building has, at various times, been tea and rest rooms and a baby health centre.
"There's been a lot of positive responses. We've had women aged from probably 35 to 65," Mrs Fergusson said.
"A lot of men have also been coming up and encouraging us to keep going.
"People are telling us that the CWA does a lot of good work and the community shouldn't lose it."
