With Hay coming in as the ninth first grade club this year, the draw was altered to allow for a larger home and away season.

It meant the grand final would be played on September 19, the same day at the popular Murrumbidgee Turf Club event, however after feedback from clubs the decider will now be played on September 12.

With Aggies race day started in support of former Ag College player Peter Worsley, who was left a paraplegic, Southern Inland rugby manager Jack Heffernan made the change.

"Obviously Aggies race day is in support of a young player who suffered a disability-causing injury playing rugby and it brings a lot of people to Wagga from the rugby community," Heffernan said.

"The clash was something that had to be avoided."

The season will still start on April 1 meaning the City-Country game will not be played this season to allow the rest of the season to come forward.

It means general byes will only be for the public holidays over Easter, Anzac Day and the Queen's Birthday long weekend.

Each club also has two byes throughout the season.

The representative concept was played for the first time during the season last year and Heffernan said it is still on the agenda for next year.

"The board is keen on the concept but with the added bye for Anzac Day it just wanted possible this year," he said.

The move could create a bumper weekend of sport in Wagga.

The Farrer League will play their grand final at Robertson Oval on the same day with Group Nine's season to conclude at Equex Centre the following day.

The winner of Southern Inland's major semi-final will host the grand final however Heffernan didn't believe the clash with other codes would have as much of an impact.

"I don't think they are a lot of heavy duty supporters of both sports or clubs who are likely to be involved," he said.

The full Southern Inland draw is still yet to be finalised.
