This year though, there is one particular student in her class of 24 students who is very close to her heart. Her very own granddaughter, five-year-old Bella Leslaighter.
The eldest child of Ms Poulos's eldest daughter Chloe, Bella's start to school begins a new chapter in the family's generational journey through the school.
"My daughter [Chloe] went to this school so she wanted her daughter to come as well," Ms Poulos said.
"She's very excited to be at 'nanny's school'."

Many years ago, Ms Poulus also taught her own daughter - Bella's mother - at another school's kindergarten, before both mother and daughter made the transition to the Christian College.
Speaking to The Daily Advertiser in the moments just prior to the new students' arrival, Ms Poulos said she felt privileged to have taught both her girls. But, this year, Bella will not be the only family member in her classroom.
Ms Poulos' younger daughter - and Bella's aunt - Hannah has also joined staff as a teacher's aide. Last year, she was stationed in a year one class, but this year she will be teaching alongside her mother.
Seeing her niece in her uniform filled the younger Ms Poulos with mixed emotions.
"I'm a bit sad actually, I remember when [Bella] was just born and now she's grown so much," she said.
"But she's so ready to be here, she's been so excited for it."
For Bella who endured a sleepless night in anticipation of first day at school, there is one other person she was excited to see in her classroom.
"I want nanny to meet Isla, [because she's been my friend for so long," the five-year-old said.
