Acting Inspector Steve Magnone said police were alerted by a member of the public to a known stolen motor vehicle driving in the Ashmont area about 7.00pm, January 26.
"Police located the vehicle shortly after on Tobruk Street in Ashmont, conducted a U-Turn and attempted to stop the vehicle," he said.
The vehicle then accelerated away from police who began a pursuit along Blackmore Avenue, through to Moxom Street, Ashmont Avenue and onto the Sturt Highway before reaching the Olympic Highway at speeds of up to 130km/h.
"The vehicle then turned harshly onto Red Hill Road travelling up to 100km/h in a 70km/h zone," Acting Inspector Magnone said.
"Due to the speed, the vehicle went up an embankment and onto the footpath after attempting a U-Turn onto Yentoo Drive but continued to drive away which was the point where police stopped the pursuit due to safety concerns."
A short time after, police saw the vehicle come to a stop.
"Two male occupants decamped the vehicle and the two females in rear attempted to decamp but police detained, arrested and charged them," Acting Inspector Magnone said.
The male passenger of the vehicle has since been arrested yesterday afternoon but the driver, who is known to police, is still outstanding.
Anyone with information on the incident or the whereabouts of the man involved is urged to contact Wagga Police Station on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
