Snowy Valleys Council, after talks with NSW Health, said the formal "boil water notice" for Tumbarumba has been lifted.
A similar notice that had affected Batlow was lifted on January 22.
The boil water notices were put in place after raw water was put into the Tumbarumba supply network to ensure volunteers had enough water to fight this month's devastating bushfires.
Water quality testing has confirmed that the water supply is now safe and residents may now consume Tumbarumba town water without boiling, according to the council.
It is being recommended that owners and residents flush all internal and external taps for a minimum of 10 minutes to draw fresh water into their plumbing and to flush any raw water from their systems. For residents with long pipeline services, the flushing duration will need to be longer.
