Gorrel is having a dream run with his team of 10 horses with nine winners and 14 placings from his past 50 starters.

The wins and placings keep adding up and that is important for Gorrel who said his owners were enjoying the excitement of racing two consistent gallopers.

He added his small band of workers, led by track work rider Anaelle Gangotena, and members of his family and friends contributed largely to his stable success.

"We have been having a really good run with a lot of seconds as well recently which aren't as good as winning, but better than running midfield and worse," he said.

"At least we know the horses are going well and I think both my horses on Sunday will be competitive in a very tough race."

Gorrel acquired both horses third hand with Exaggerate winning six and Ballista four under his training.

Exaggerate was previously with John Hawkes in Sydney then Matthew Dale at Canberra before Gorrel took over some two years ago.

There have been plenty of wins and exciting times with Exaggerate and Gorrel hopes there is another on Sunday.

"I couldn't ask for more from Exaggerate. It was a super run last week at Cowra and he has been a lovely old horse to us," he said.

"He is a real favourite and I think after Sunday he will go for a break and come back for a race over the Wagga Cup carnival in May.

"It's the same with Ballista who was originally in South Australia and has won four races and been so consistent."

The trademark consistency rings true with Ballsita who has three wins, four seconds and a third from her past eight starts.

The mare looked to have the race won at Nowra last start before being narrowly edged out and she will lack nothing on the side of fitness.

"She will get back a bit where Exaggerate will be just behind the speed. There should be plenty of pace on with Kiss My Swiss up front so I expect her to be running on strongly," Gorrel said.

The trainer has been pleasantly surprised with the record of Ballista.

"You couldn't ask for any more from her. She always gives her best as her record shows with three straight seconds after two wins in a row."

In-form jockey Simon Miller will be aboard Exaggerate, while Kayla Nisbet will stick with Ballista.

Miller rode four winners at Wagga on January 9 and has some strong winning hopes on Sunday.

Meanwhile, stable mates Kiss My Swiss and Uzbekistan haven't put a hoof wrong in country class and are again well suited on Sunday.

Kiss My Swiss will start one of the favourites in the Scamper, while Uzbekistan is unbeaten in two starts for trainer Joe Cleary.

"Kiss My Swiss won't know her self with only 53.5 kilograms on her back and she is back to country grade after two runs in Sydney," Cleary said.

"It's hard to win three straight but Uzbekistan has got the job done twice at Queanbeyan so we will see how she goes."
