Joining the NSW Police Force in 1984, Detective Superintendent Lewis performed general duties for four years before commencing a successful career in major criminal investigations in the North West Major Crime Squad.

Not new to receiving awards of honour, she was commended for her involvement in leading several high-profile murder investigations between 1991 and 1995, including Commanders Commendations.

Between 1996 and 2009, Detective Superintendent Lewis transferred through several stations in regional NSW performing predominantly criminal investigation duties relating to child protection.

Detective Superintendent Lewis first appeared on the scene in Wagga after being promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2002, and from then until 2016, performed the role of Team Leader at the rank of Detective Sergeant investigating Child Abuse offences.

From 1996 - 2006, Detective Superintendent Lewis was also a NSWPF Negotiator and assisted during many high risk incidents and suicide interventions.

She was promoted to the rank of Inspector in 2006 whilst at Wagga Police Station performing the role of Duty Officer until 2009 when she transferred as Manager to the Professional Standards Command Investigations and Field Services.

Detective Superintendent Lewis landed her current ranking in 2014 as the role of Commander, PSC Investigations, and in 2018 she transferred to her current role as Commander, Campsie Police Area Command.

Detective Superintendent Lewis is an accomplished Police Commander who has provided dedicated service to the people of New South Wales for over 35 years.
