And co-trainer Leroy O'Brien is confident she can do so on Friday night despite a horror draw.
No filly has won Leeton's feature race since Chicitoo do so for the master of the two-year-old classic, Peter Manning, in 2004.
This year fillies have the numbers advantage, with seven of the 10 finalists of the fairer sex, and O'Brien is thrilled by how his filly came through her debut run.
"(Drawing) one would have been nice but we are not really worried about it," O'Brien said.
"She wasn't 100 per cent in the heat, she had a couple of coughs on the way over but has cleared up now."
Im Lady Madeleine utilised barrier one to lead all-the-way in her heat.
She cleared out from her rivals down the back straight, going on to win by 32.1 metres.
However she clocked a significantly slower mile rate with her 2:04.3 over two seconds off what Rocknroll Runa went in the opening heat.
Reinsman Jayden Brewin sat quietly on the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance and O'Brien is confident she can overcome barrier 10 and go much faster in the final.
"She did everything she had to do," he said.
"Jayden looked after her knowing she wasn't 100 per cent going into the heat and he drove her well.
"Her work since then has gone to the next level so she will be right.
"Ten isn't the greatest but hopefully she can keep punching through at the start and find herself midfield and make a move when we have to."
With the standouts from the first heat, Malakie (five) and Rocknroll Runa (six), also drawing poorly it negates part of the wide draw.
O'Brien is looking to emulate his uncle Tim, who was successful with Western Rockstar in 2011.
It's through that connection the group three came of the radar of the Armstrong trainer.
However he admitted to took longer than first anticipated to make the trip from his base near Ararat.
"We've had her in a couple of races that haven't held up here and had her right, my uncle won the race with Western Rockstar, Brooke Hansen had him then, and Tim said it was a good race if you have a nice filly and it's not too far," O'Brien said.
"When we started driving we realised he got that wrong, it is a long way."
O'Brien has enjoyed plenty of success with the likes of Im Sir Blake and Im Princess Gemma, but rates Im Lady Madeleine as better than them at this early stage.
"If we didn't think she was right for the final we wouldn't take her," he said.
"She is definitely going and we couldn't be more excited.
"Im Sir Blake was a lovely two-year and Im Princess was a really good filly as a two-year-old but we really do think this one could be the best one we've had.
"Everyone every year says they've got a bit better one but we're pretty excited about this filly."
