Dubbed the Blaze of Glory Rodeo, this event will be held on Friday, February 21, at the Tumbarumba showground.
The annual Tumbafest will begin the following day - Saturday, February 22 - after organisers decided to go ahead with the popular event as the area begins to rebuild after the devastating fires.
Likewise, the popular Batlow CiderFest will go ahead in May, organisers have announced, although the exact details have not yet been finalised.
Ray Billings, one of CiderFest's organisers, said the community had been asked whether, in the wake of the damage caused by fire around Batlow, people wanted to go ahead with the festivities.
The response was unanimously in favour of holding it, he said.
Richie Robinson from Destination Riverina Murray is encouraging visitors to make their way back to the Snowy Valleys and other tourist destinations, as the areas recover from the effects of the bushfires.
"The industry in the Snowy Valleys, places like Tumbarumba and Batlow, and smaller communities like Jingellic, have had a pretty rough patch over the past six to eight weeks. It's very important we get out there and support these communities and attend some of the events that are coming up," Mr Robinson said.
"There are regular events that are going ahead and some that have sprung up as a bushfire initiative.
I think it's really important that the people of Wagga, and other places, jump in their car and go and help out.
"Forward planning is important. It's important to go and have day trips, but the businesses and event organisers would love the forward bookings to come through, just to instill a little more confidence that people are behind them."
Mr Robinson said with the Australia Day long weekend approaching, it was a good time to plan a trip to one of the regions affected by bushfires and to help rebuild by enjoying the activities and attractions available.
