A Wagga woman who bought herself a Christmas Eve treat and left it in her purse for weeks has been stunned at a $25,000 win.

The lady stashed a $2 A Latte Cash scratchie in her wallet after buying it at the Sturt Mall Nextra the night before Christmas.
But come the New Year, the innocuous instant lottery ticket transformed into serious bucks.
"It was very exciting," the lucky winner said.
"It was possibly one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me in my whole life.
"I couldn't believe that I had $25,000 in my wallet all that time. I wish I had known earlier.
"When I scratched it I couldn't process what I was seeing. I just stared at the winning symbol."

The cash is already coming in handy, with the winner already planning renovations.
"It arrived at the perfect time and we can't wait to enjoy it," she said.
"It still feels surreal."
The woman is the latest winner in a lucky Wagga streak that has seen millions won in the city over the last two years.
The same newsagent sold a division one Saturday Lotto winner in November, with the ticketholder taking home just shy of $610,000.
Nextra Sturt Mall employee Payge Dale said the outlet was enjoying a winning streak.
"It's amazing news to hear we've sold this top prize," she said.
"We only sold a Saturday Lotto division one winning entry late last year.
"Congratulations to our latest winner! We hope she really enjoys her prize."
A Wagga retiree picked up a Saturday Lotto ticket while in a road trip through Balranald in June, netting her a $953,000 share of the division one prize pool.
A lucky man walked away from SouthCity Newsagency $100,000 richer after checking an April super jackpot draw.
Meanwhile, another Wagga woman had the birthday of a lifetime when she received a call in January last year informing her of a $200,000 lottery win.
