Safety assessments have began at hospitals and aged-care facilities in Batlow and Tumbarumba, in preparation for evacuated aged-care residents to return. The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has not been able to confirm the timeframe for their return. "Our team have been busy on the ground ensuring our MPS facilities are safe and ready to accept patients," said Darren Green, MLHD asset manager. "Some of the checks being undertaken include water filtration and air quality as well as general infrastructure." In the meantime, the Tumut Hospital Emergency Department remains fully operational and supported with additional resources. Up to 12 facilities were impacted by fires, with aged-care and acute patients relocated to Cootamundra, Junee, Narrandera, Temora, Wagga, West Wyalong, Gundagai and Holbrook.
