Brendan Gardoll, 25, appeared in court via video link on Wednesday afternoon, when his Legal Aid solicitor, Paul Keane, sought his release from custody.
Magistrate Christopher Halburd granted Gardoll bail but imposed a number of conditions, including a curfew and that he not enter any of the addresses where the alleged offences took place.
The matter returns to court on February 26.
Riverina Police detective inspector Adrian Telfer said police charged the 25-year-old man this week with six break and enters and pawnbroking offences following months of investigation.
"We spoke to this individual yesterday at the Wagga Police Station and he was later charged with [break and enter] offences and we also looked into where that property was disposed," he said.
Detective inspector Adrian Telfer said it is alleged that the man stole cash and jewellery during the break and enters.
"They are small valuables, but it is often these items that have sentimental value to the owners," he said.
Police were aware of a number of homes and properties were broken into within the Coolamon shire in April, which started the investigation.
"This something that has a significant impact on small rural communities," Detective Inspector Telfer said.
"We have spoken to a lot of our local community out there and they were willing to provide us with information and that saw us be able to put a lot of evidence together.
"We are fairly confident that we can put a strong allegation to the local court here."
Detective Inspector Telfer said police recovered some of the stolen property and were working on returning the items to their "rightful owners".
"It is very important for that community to spread the word that we do have property here at the police station," he said.
"If you have had any property stolen, please come forward."
