According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a vigorous cold front will affect southern parts of the state this afternoon and evening, extending into central areas overnight before weakening.

The bureau is forecast damaging winds averaging 55 to 65 kilometres an hour, with gusts around 90 kilometres an hour over inland parts of the state, including Wagga.
The State Emergency Service has advised that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised.
- Report fallen power lines.
Speaking from the fire control centre at Tumut today, Bradley Stewart from the Rural Fire Service said firefighters were preparing an afternoon of low humidity, high temperatures, windy conditions and an unstable atmosphere.
