Racing NSW stewards made the decision at 6.50am on Monday morning after an inspection of the Albury racecourse.
It is the second time in four days that the race meeting has been postponed after originally being scheduled for Friday.
It was moved from Friday due to the poor air quality and heavy smoke haze and the situation had not improved by Monday morning.
Racing NSW stewards cited 'hazardous air quality and poor visibility due to smoke haze' as the reasons for the decision.
The postponement is the third meeting in the Southern District Racing Association (SDRA) not to go ahead over the last week.
Gundagai's Adelong Cup meeting on January 1 was postponed due to the air quality, while Tumut's TAB meeting on Saturday was put back two weeks due to extreme heat and the smokey conditions.
Racing officials are hopeful conditions improve by Thursday with Murrumbidgee Turf Club (MTC) set to stage it's first meeting of the year.
