The Adelong Services & Citizens Club Adelong Cup - Benchmark 66 Handicap (1400m) is the feature event on the five-race card on Wednesday.

Southern District Racing Association chief steward Jason Shultz didn't forsee the conditions becoming an issue.

"Gundagai shouldn't be impacted too much," Schultz said. "It is meant to be a little bit cooler (on Wednesday) than what is has been.

"It will just be the standard with the hot weather policy in place for that meeting."

Todd Smart has scratched Eurosay from the feature race, meaning a field of six will go around.

Canberra trainer Norm Gardner, who won the race last year with The Walrus, has Trying in the running.

Wayne Carroll represents Wagga with Fashion Tip while Kerry Weir has Bondo engaged.

The meeting starts at 1.45pm.

However there is bigger concern for Tumut's first TAB meeting on Saturday.

There is currently a forecast top of 41 degrees.

That has decreased in the past few days and Schultz expects to have more information on Thursday.

"It is meant to be very hot and we are just keeping an eye on that at this stage," he said.

"I will be having another good look at the weather (on Wednesday) and Thursday morning if there is going to be any change to the meeting it is likely to be then."

Stewards are also monitoring the temperature for Albury's meeting on Friday however Schultz revealed there hasn't been any problems with horses being distressed in the recent spate of hot weather.
