It can certainly be hard to keep track of what day it is at this time of year.
After all the build up and pre-Christmas stress, December 25 is now behind us. Boxing Day has also come and gone.
Now our attention turns to New Year's Eve, which this year marks not only the end of 2019 but also the culmination of a decade.
This week we started our look back at the biggest stories of the year.
It has been another big 12 months for the team at The Daily Advertiser.
We've celebrated the city's highs and shared its heartache. Through the power of words and images, we've been able to tell Riverina stories in a way no one else can.
Our website - dailyadvertiser.com.au - means when news breaks you know about it as it happens.
Unfortunately, this week that news included the recovery of a man's body from the Murrumbidgee River on Christmas Day.
The 25-year-old Cambodian national, who had been living in Victoria, was swimming when he went under and didn't resurface.
The drowning prompted a renewed plea from authorities for people to take care in the water.
We're also being urged to look after ourselves on the roads this festive season and during New Year's Eve celebrations.
In Wagga, NYE 2019 is being celebrated at an event in the Victory Memorial Gardens.
The fireworks are expected to go ahead despite the state's bushfire emergency and the current hot weather.
Donations will be collected for fire-affected communities.
Many of our readers believed the fireworks should have been cancelled out of respect for those caught up in the fires and money given to NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers.
Others said the display would boost morale, particularly among those who will travel from drought-stricken communities across the Riverina to attend the event.
Whichever way you look at it, it's clear we need one thing in 2020 - rain.
Wishing you a safe, happy and wet new year.
All the best for 2020.
