About 12pm on Sunday, officers from Riverina Police District stopped a Ford XR5 for a random breath test on Rosehill Road.
Police said four large duffel bags containing large quantities of cannabis were found in the rear of the vehicle.
The cannabis, which has an estimated potential street value of more than $1 million, was seized alongside cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.
The driver, Stuart Glenn Middlemiss, was taken to Cootamundra police station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug and dealing in proceeds of crime.
Middlemiss was refused bail at Wagga Local Court on Monday and the matter adjourned to Parramatta Local Court on December 30.
