The Bureau of Meteorology's early festive forecast predicts Wagga won't be in for quite as scorching of a summer's day on December 25 but, hey, we can still expect warm and mostly sunny weather.
The city is tipped to reach a maximum of 34 degrees on Christmas Day.
In the meantime, the rest of this week is looking anything but cool with Wagga set to reach 44 degrees on Friday and 41 on Saturday.
The fire danger rating for the southern, eastern and northern Riverina districts on Friday is high, with very high fire danger in the southern slopes.
A total fire ban remains in force across NSW until midnight on Saturday and a state of emergency was declared on Thursday.
The state of emergency, which allows powers to be transferred from the government to Rural Fire Service commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, is the second to be declared this bushfire season.
Closer to Christmas, Wagga can expect a top of 36 degrees on Monday and 36 on Christmas Eve Tuesday.
Santa should expect mild conditions when he arrives in Wagga on Tuesday night, or early on Wednesday morning, with an overnight low of 16 degrees forecast.
