Starting last weekend, the Rotary Club of Wagga Sunrise has been selling Christmas trees at Bunnings' car park to raise funds for charity purposes.
This year, proceeds will go towards Wagga Base Hospital's antenatal unit.
Rotary club member and organiser Dave O'Grady said the trees came from around the Hume Dam, near Albury, and grown by a Rotary club down there.
"They're about four to five years old and this year, they're particularly good because we had 60 millimeters of rain down there about a month ago," Mr O'Grady said.
"They've just turned out beautifully. These are the best trees we've had in about six years."
Mr O'Grady cut the trees himself and bring them to Wagga.
"Demand's been steadily increasing every year over the past few years," he said.
Among those who bought trees at the weekend was Kirsty Kochanski, who said buying trees from the club has been an annual event for her and her family.
"I've grown up with real Christmas trees and so it doesn't really feel like Christmas without the smell of them in the house," Ms Kochanski said.
She bought one for herself and one for her sister.
Ms Kochanski said it was positive to support the club and give back to the community in the process of buying Christmas trees.
"It's a lot easier, too since it's on our doorsteps," she said.
"What better way to support charities then this time of the year."
Prices for Christmas trees from the Rotary Club of Wagga Sunrise:
