Former Wagga cricketer Josh Staines has helped ACT/NSW Country to a third placed finish at the under 19s national championships in Perth.

The defending champions were knocked out of the running for back-to-back titles by NSW Metro in the semi-final on Wednesday.
However they responded to take a six-wicket victory over Victoria Metro in the play off for third at Lilac Hill on Thursday.
Staines was not required with the bat after the South Coast's Kaleb Phillips made an unbeaten 135 in the sixth-wicket victory.
NSW Metro went on to take the crown with a 48-run win over Victoria Country in the final.
ACT/NSW Country won three of their six pool stages, with losses to Victoria Country, Victoria Metro and Queensland, before suffering a four-wicket loss against NSW Metro in the semi-final.
Staines finished the tournament with 132 runs at an average of 22.
The bulk of them came in the loss to Victoria Country in round two when he made 56 batting at seven in the 20-run loss.
The wicketkeeper also took 11 catches and completed six stumpings.
Former Hay cricketer Rupert Lilburne was the other Riverina talent in the side.
The bowler snared four wickets in the five games he played in with his best figures of 3-39 coming in the win over Northern Territory.
Lilburne also made 17 batting at number 10 in the first round loss to Victoria Metro.
